Spray Glue Group 12
A full field of 8 racers signed up and took to the track for the first event of the day. The early leader was David (the racing solicitor) Aikens starting out on the blue lane. David could not take the pace on the black lane and dropped to third behind Bill Pinkston and Mick (Speed Tricks) Antonelli. Bill led until heat 6 when he broke down allowing Mick to take the lead. Mick cruised to the win with Monty Ohren finishing only 6 laps down with local hot shot Tyson (The Kid) Joyce taking 3rd. David held on to finish 4th with Bill, Darryl Atkin, Matt Carrol and Alan Trujillo finishing behind them.

Group 12
After a short delay the track got cleaned, resprayed and glued down and it was Bill Pinkston taking the 7 TQ points with a lap of 2.98.

With 10 entries we set up the computer for everybody’s favorite, a round robin main! It took Tyson a heat and a half to get going but when he did, he showed all the regulars how it’s done. Tyson took over the lead in the second heat and by the time all the “fast” guys were done with the sit outs, Tyson was 14 laps up on his boss Mick. Tyson took his first SoCal wing car victory with Mick 2nd and Pat Ularte 3rd. The other finishers were Bill Pinkston suffering with a broken guide flag, Dale Garcia, Jason (Hey! Stacee, your daddy tossed a tag) Holmes, David Aikens, Alan Trujillo, Matt Carrol and Darryl Atkin staggering in at various intervals.

Group 27
We had a nice field of 6 entries for our first G-27 race of the year and it was Scott Fisher, fresh from his trip to the Barnburner cutting the fast lap in qualifying with a time of 2.43.

When the race started it was Scott and Pat Ularte trading the lead back and forth with Forrest Watchers keeping them honest just a few laps back. Pat moved back into the lead for good in heat 4 by laying down an 85 lap heat on green.  Scott and Forrest kept in contact until late in the race when Pat ripped off a pair of 87 lap heats on purple and black. Scott would settle for 2nd with Forrest taking the final podium spot. Darryl Atkin, Alan Trujillo and Jason (Hey! Stacee, your daddy pulled out with a bad handling racecar) Holmes were backmarkers.

One Motor Open
As the race started up it was Al Chuck and Scott Fisher the early leaders. But Scott would blow out an axle bearing and Al’s motor would slow leaving it to Pat Ularte and Forrest Watchers to battle it out. Forrest would be ahead early but Pat would catch up after both racers had run 5 heats. Pat would then run 3 perfect heats to finish the race 21 laps ahead of Forrest. Al Chuck would hold on for 3rd with Phil Larcom, Monty Ohren, Darryl Atkin, Scott Fisher, Alan Trujillo and Jason (Hey! Stacee, your daddy broke another chassis) Holmes rounding out the field of 9.

Track Calls
Oops! Pat ran 679 laps to win the 27 race but only 676 laps to win the one motor race.

Pats 3 consecutive heats to finish the one motor race were on black, yellow and orange. Pat also threw down a perfect heat on the blue lane. Not too shabby for this old style King track. Mick has had this bad boy up for more than 10 years in its current location and it was used when he got it. Pat, good job.
