SoCal USRA Dues : Raise the annual membership fee to $32.00 (Five dollar
increase) which would financially support rising costs
of the banquet, awards, t-shirts, banners, postage,
printing and contribute something financially towards
the SoCal USRA website.

Racing Proposals
|
|
W1. Drop C 12 and Group 27 from the rotating class
schedule because of a lack of participation, and move
sprayglue 12 racing back to Saturday Morning. Note:
This proposal would not affect the Western States Schedule
where C12 and Group 27 would remain.

W2. If W1 above fails then add Semi-Pro Group 7 onto
the rotating schedule of classes

|
|
W3. Allow any Group 12 (glue and sprayglue) chassis
to be upgraded with any manufacturers “gear guard” strut.
It is understood that on some chassis, this will require
that both struts be replaced.
Upside: Fewer broken gears, long term less expense
and more cars running at the end. Downside: Racing
wise none. Will make chassis non Nats legal.

|
W4. Do not allow any more proposals to eliminate
or in any way harm the sprayglue 12 series.
Upside: No more wasting time on this non-issue. 407
total entries in 2005, 103 from the Sprayglue 12 class. Downside:
None

W5. Allow practice period between Semi-Pro and Pro
1 Motor Open races to be 15 minutes only.
Reasons: Both Pro and Semi-Pro racers should use
the practice time before the Semi-Pro race, and then
the Pro racers should just have a 15 minute tire testing
period before their race. The current break between
those two classes is too long.

|
W6. Have the Sprayglue 12 race at ALL rounds of the
2006 championship on Saturday mornings. Tech closes
at 8:30am.
Reasons : Both Sprayglue and Group 12 entry levels
are being hurt by having the Sprayglue 12 race on Friday
nights. More racers would run both classes if both were
on Saturday morning. Right now many racers have to make
a choice about which one to race in.

Racing Proposals
|
|
S1. Change the Western States points to be counted
the same as any other race (Currently it is worth 1.5
times other round points)
Reasons: If you have bad luck or mechanical problems,
this race can determine the outcome for the year. By
not increasing the points or allowing it to be a drop,
this race would not have such an impact for the other
ten races. By making the points the same as any other
round it will stop those that had a bad race from dropping
out as the season goes along.

|
S2. Eliminate the Advanced Class.
Pro: The class does not get enough entries. It is
a waste of time to have four races a day for them with
4-5 entries, plus it doesn’t accomplish anything as
with the move-ups each year it’s just the amateur winners
racing themselves over in a new class.
Con: If the advanced class continues, then we will
continue to have only 4-5 entries per class and never
grow the expert field, plus we will continue to have
long days and nights.

|
S3. A class of racing (Amateur, Advanced, Expert)
will have a separate race if there are 8 or more entrants,
otherwise races may be combined in any or all classes.
Ie. Amateur/Expert or Amateur/Advanced or Advanced/Expert
or Amateur/Advanced/Expert.
Reasons: Whether the Advanced class is retained or
not this will allow for speeding up the days racing
by eliminating races where there are few entries. The
downside is it will create more round robin races, and
opportunities for a race within a class to be influenced
by racers not in that class.
|

|
|
S4. Make all races one motor races.
Reasons: This will limit the amount of motors a racer
will need to be competitive, it will possibly slow people
down considering they won’t be running a motor that
only goes fast for a heat or two. This should bring
the field to a more even playing field. If the current
status of allowing racers to run multiple motors in
a race continues this will deter amateur and advanced
racers from continuing racing and trying to financially
compete each month. I feel we will lose racers throughout
the year.
