2005 Wing Round 4 - April 2nd - Cruzin Raceway, Arizona.

Cruzin’ Raceways Chandler, AZ April 2, 2005

Spray Glue 12
This race started out real close with Josh Bauer and Kenny Richens running the same number of laps in the first 2 heats with Adam Kirchhoffer only one lap back. Josh had problems in heat 3 and Kenny extended his lead to all of 3 laps. Chris Rodriguez Jr moved into a tie for the lead with Kenny but could not close the deal, having car problems in the next heat allowing Adam back into second place. Kenny continued to lead until the end taking the win ahead of Adam with TJ Albu taking the final podium spot. Chris dropped down to 4th ahead of Josh Bauer and Pete Christiansen.

Group 12
Once again it was Kenny Richens playing a major role and leading early. TJ Albu was close early but slipped away allowing Kenny to take a wire-to-wire win. TJ took 2nd with Dale Garcia taking 3rd ahead of Lawrence Roberts, Gary Mayeda, Adam Kirchhoffer and Roy Hood.

Cobalt 12
We had that pesky guy from the NW Kenny running in the lead with Phil Larcom after the first heat. But Kenny was unable to keep pace with the flyin’ Phil. Kenny would suffer from several car problems and drop to 3rd, leaving Phil with a 102 lap win over Lorenzo Roberts. Kenny was 3rd and TJ Picked up 4th.

One Motor S/P
There were only 8 total entries so it was run as one race, but I will report it as 2 separate races.

Once again it was Kenny Richens in the early mix with Josh Bauer not really able to keep pace but running in 2nd. Kenny continued to lead and would take his 3rd win of the weekend. Josh would have major problems late in the race and drop to 3rd behind TJ Albu.

One Motor Pro
This was ugly. There were 3 Pro’s. Forrest Watchers hit a stopped car early in the first heat and broke a magnet. In a show of good sportsmanship he was allowed to continue after changing the motor but for 3rd place points only. The other 2 Pro’s Robert Park and Phil Larcom both had problems and were out but took the 1st and 2nd place points respectively.
