 Welcome to the SoCal USRA website,
the home of Slot Car Racing in Southern California. The 2006 season
is underway, so take some time and have a look around our site.
Sign up on the Mailing List to recive updates directly
via email, check out our great Race Reports, Race Results, Tech Sheets
and Photo Galleries for both Scale and Wing racing, which are all accessible through the Schedule
page.

Race Schedule page you will find all the information relating
to each race, including a link to the raceway websites and a link
to display a location map where you can get directions to get there.

 We
still have some of the now famous SoCal USRA T-Shirts
for sale. These are a black t-shirt featuring the new
SoCal USRA logo and cars on the back, while the new
logo is featured on the front pocket.

2006 BANQUET AND PRIZEGIVING AND RACES
|
| The 2006 Banquet and Prizegiving will
be held on Saturday December 9th 2006, starting at 12:00 Noon at the Orange County Mining Co in Orange
County. The banquet is free to all current paid up members. Guests are welcome, cost is $40.00 per head.

As in 2005 we are trying to organise some racing after the banquet for both
Wing Cars and Scale Cars. More details to follow as they are confirmed.

BANQUET ENDURANCE RACES AT BUENA PARK
As in 2005
we will run another teams endurance race
at Buena Park Raceway after the Banquet.
2 person teams (only 1 expert allowed in
each team) GT1 bodies, handout Falcon or
S7 motors, .032 clearance at race start.
4 hour total race, 2 hours on the Kingleman
and 2 hours on the Hillclimb. No dedicated
race director, so no track calls !
In addition
to the Enduro there will be a 1 Motor Open
race on the King. Power will be set to race
power of 14.3v.

on the Kingleman.

Stockcar / 4.5" Stockcar on the Hillclimb.

The Wing Western States was held May 5th, 6th and 7th.

WING RACING - MOTOR CHANGES IN 1 MOTOR OPEN
RACES
There has been some question
as to if it is permissible to change motors in the 1
Motor Open Class. I have made a careful reading of the
current rules that are posted on the SoCal Web Site
and I find that while you will be disqualified if you
change or repair your motor while competing in the 1
Motor Open event (Semi Pro or Pro) the wording of the
rules does not exclude you from continuing to participate
in the race with another motor or a repaired motor.
You will however, only be given credit for the laps
that you achieved while using the motor you started
the race with before it was changed or repaired.

2006 GT 12 BODIES, NEW PRODUCTS, 2006 USRA
RULEBOOK
For 2006 both Advanced
and Expert racers will run GT 1 bodies, while Amateur
racers will continue to run GTP bodies. GT 1 bodies
on GT12 chassis must be cut on the cutline, but when
viewed from above, the chassis at the front may be visible
by 1/16" on each side. This is because the GT 12
chassis are wider at the front than the Flexi Cars most
of the current GT1 bodies were designed for.

2005 ANNUAL MEETING AND BANQUET
The
2005 Banquet and Annual Meeting was
held on Saturday December
10th 2005 at Clearmans North Woods Inn in
La Mirada. Details and rule changes will be posted soon. Click

After the meeting the
Scale Enduro and Wing 1 Motor Open racing were both
a huge success at Buena Park, with all three tracks
being raced on at one. Click

: Spray Glue 12 moves back onto Saturdays for 2006. Raceways will open at 7:00am.
Tech will CLOSE for Sprayglue 12 at 8:30am and racing will follow as soon as possible.
At this time there is no scheduled races for C12 or Group 27 on
the 2006 schedule, apart from The Western States. Points cannot
be dropped for the Western States.
